Composite Filling

Most individuals will have to have a filling performed on a tooth or several during their lifetime – this may be as a result of an injury, accident, age, or poor oral hygiene. Composite fillings are an alternative to the traditional dark coloured, metal filling solution that has been used for many years.

A composite filling is just like a standard tooth filling and serves the same function, but is coloured in a way that resembles the natural colouring of your tooth.

The Treatment

The process of applying composite fillings is a straightforward one that can be completed by our orthodontists and dental surgeons in approximately 20 – 30 minutes. It begins with your teeth being numbed and the decayed or injured part of your tooth removed. The area is then thoroughly cleaned to ensure the correct placement of the filling is achieved. The composite filling is then placed into the cavity securely so that it looks and functions just like any other natural tooth.

Do I need A Composite Filling?

If you have sensitivity whilst eating or drinking, have recently experienced trauma to a tooh, or are beginning to notice the early signs of tooth decay, we recommend that you book an appointment with our expert dental surgeons and orthodontists. A composite filling will restore your tooth to its natural function and colour, as well as alleviating any pain caused by the damaged or decayed tooth.
