The Sinus Lift Treatment
To prepare for the treatment our expert dental surgeons and orthodontists will x-ray your jaw so that they can clearly see the anatomy of your sinus. The treatment begins with a small incision being made into your upper jaw, providing access to your jawbone. The exposed bone is carefully cut away to allow access to your sinus membrane. This is lifted up to a higher level and the new space is packed with a bone graft material for the dental plants to be attached to.
After The Treatment
Following the treatment, you may experience some swelling in your sinus area and some bleeding in your mouth. It’s important that you do not blow your nose until the area has fully healed. Using a nasal spray will help to keep your nose moist and will help to prevent you from sneezing. You should also avoid partaking in exercise directly after the treatment.
Our orthodontists and dental surgeons will request a follow-up appointment two weeks after your treatment to remove the stitches and assess how well you’re healing.
